The Chinese government reviews applications for export licenses related to dual-use items by laws and regulations and will approve applications that meet the requirements to promote convenient and compliant trade.

Regarding the recent US measures to stop exporting ethane to China, He Yongqian said that after the release of the "Joint Statement of the China-US Geneva Economic and Trade Talks" on May 12, China has taken a responsible attitude, taken it seriously, strictly implemented China's obligations, and actively maintained the consensus of the Geneva Economic and Trade Talks. On the other hand, the US has taken a series of restrictive measures against China after the Geneva Talks, which seriously undermined the existing consensus and seriously damaged China's legitimate rights and interests. China is strongly dissatisfied with this, firmly opposes it, and demands that the US stop immediately.
